Discussion:
[Machinekit] Raise Time of a Step (Type 0)

Hi all,

I'm using machinekit on a BBB black.
Is it possible to set up the time of raising and falling
<https://dict.leo.org/englisch-deutsch/falling> edge
<https://dict.leo.org/englisch-deutsch/edge> of a step?
I need a raise time < 0,2µs. Is that possible with a stepgen or do I need
to change the signal to a PWM?

Thanks in advance

Tobi

Typically no, you cannot set the I/O rise times ( though on some hardware
you can set the I/O pin drive strength which affects rise/fall time into
capacitive loads )

I dont think you have anything to worry about though since the BBB output
pin rise time will quite a bit be faster than 0.2 us (probably on the 0.002
to 0.010 us region)
